A Day in the Life

About

September 23, 2018

I’m Joel. I’m a divorced dad co-parenting and raising 3 fantastic kids. I’m a full time senior front-end developer working at a pretty fantastic Marketing Agency.

I love photography, especially shooting on my Fujifilm X-T20 and Fujifilm X100V. I shot Canon for years, but the heft and the bulk and the need to always edit what I shot got really tiresome – enter Fuji mirrorless. Small, light, and can create incredible JPG images straight from the camera. Add in wifi to my smartphone and I hardly ever end up in front of a computer to edit. It’s fantastic.

I set up this blog because I’m growing tired of being the product for social media giants – I want to own my content, display in the order I want, not inundate you with ads, control the quality of the pictures, and keep the stupid political garbage far far away. I want to go back to the world of personal blogs and RSS feeds. This is my small movement to return to that. I’m even hosting this site on a Mac Mini in my basement – the way the internet was meant to be.

I’m also available for hire if you’ve got something fun you’d like to shoot together. My favorite style right now is day-in-the-life and I’d love to come spend a few hours with you and your kids and capture memories of you having fun together.
